Description
Marced IV. The sculpture was created in colours and contrasts that are closer to me. I make no secret of the fact that I prefer bolder colour combinations, sometimes I can’t help it. Although MARCED IV was very difficult to finish, due to the difficult to maintain bright and vivid colours, in the end I am very happy with it.
THE MAIN IDEA OF THE MARCED SCULPTURE:
MARCED looks at his hand in surprise, he is in great shock because it seems like the first time he has seen a living hand, a hand in which real blood flows. A finger moves, one, the other, the whole hand. Marced is frightened because he has realised that it is his hand and he can move it himself, that the hand does what he asks so it is definitely his.
MARCED in „his” life is indestructible, immortal, has golden armour with beautiful decorations, has a great sword and a powerful rifle with a sight. He can jump high, run with acceleration, shoot from a tank, a plane. MARCED in his ‘favourite life’ has a super-fast car, he has many of them. MARCED is not afraid of risks he never gets tired, he is not afraid of death because he will be reborn as many times as he wants. MARCED has never felt pain and is not afraid of anything, the only thing MARCED is afraid of now is his own hand. He is afraid of it because it is alive real and the blood flows in it. He forgot about his body a long time ago, he didn’t need it for anything a long time ago. His body has become reconstructed, split into many different lives, it has begun to split between the real world and his „favourite” one. He is on the borderline, a real consciousness, and moves into the multidirectionality of fiction.
I have the impression that sometimes we are all surprised that we are alive, that real blood flows in us, that we can direct our own lives and that others surround us, that we can die, sometimes without a trace. When the boundary between reality and life is lost, when, like a drug, you easily reach for and become artificially who you want to be, forgetting your living reality.
I would be a hypocrite to describe MARCED without looking at myself, a bit of it was my theses pleasures, to escape somewhere else to forget the gravity and disposability of my own life, honestly I used to often get bored with reality, a bit too little colour here. Longer or shorter moments in another virtual reality…. fortunately today I am quite alive. Real life has turned out to be more interesting because now I create fictions in it and not the other way around.
